Process/Thumbnails

Below are two scripts from a series I was the Storyboard Supervisor on. I begin every episode the same way: I read through the script for the first time with pen in hand, making notes and drawings on the page. This helps me to visualize the episode while also flagging areas that are unclear and identifying any potential obstacles that could arise before investing a lot of time. The first script is one that I boarded myself, and the second was one I used as a demo for a Junior Storyboard Artist in order to show how you break down dialog into poses/shots.

Below is a thumbnail pass from an episode of Boss Baby: Back in the Crib (DreamWorks/Netflix). This one was challenging because it had a ‘Lazy Susan’ staging, combined with a nod to the famous sequence from The Deer Hunter.
